This training provides all the necessary skills to renew your two (2) year certification as an American Red Cross Lifeguard. This lifeguard certification course is a blended learning class that combines online studying with an on-site skills session where you will practice and demonstrate competency. Participants MUST complete the online portion of the class before the first day of the on-site skills class.
You must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification to participate in the re-certification class.
Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence
■ Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
- Swimming on the back or side is not permitted.
- Swim goggles are allowed.
■ Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.
■ Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email within 2 business days with details about the class. Please bring any snacks and lunch for both days.
Class will be held at The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Donaghey Aquatic Center, 3539 S University Ave, Little Rock AR 72204.
10 April 2026, Friday from 4:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m
11 April 2026, Saturday from 9:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m
12 April 2026, Sunday from 12:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m
American Red Cross requires a minimum of five (5) participants per class. If your chosen class does not meet this minimum we will be in contact with you to select another date.
